Stella Dallas was a play that ran at the Empress Theatre in 1927 in Vancouver, starring Verna Felton. Her husband, Lee Millar, directed the band The Monte Carter Players. The play was based on the 1923 novel by Olive Higgins Prouty and 1925 film of the same name. Verna Felton was a popular film and television American actress, most well known for her voice work in Disney films such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Dumbo.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verna_Felton(accessed 25/01/2019). The Empress Theatre was built in 1908. It was well known for the size of its stage, but was demolished in 1940.
