A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1972 for Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi psychodrama "A Clockwork Orange", based on the novel by Anthony Burgess and nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award.

Here in the UK, A Clockwork Orange carries a fair amount on infamy. After being indirectly linked to a number of violent copycat crimes, the film was withdrawn in 1973 at the request of Stanley Kubrick. It would not be available in the UK until after Kubrick's death.

This iconic poster, designed by British illustrator Philip Castle (who also designed and illustrated the poster for Full Metal Jacket) has just been linen-backed by our paper conservators and they have done an incredible job. Prior to linen-backing the poster was 'tri-folded' (folded width-wise, but not length wise) and linen-backing has greatly reduced the visibility of the fold-lines. A stamp of the film's name from the back of the poster is also now barely visible in the top left corner. This is an astonishingly good poster. Please do take a look at our close-up photos.

We aren't too far from Kubrick's old home at Childwickbury and we are big admirers of his work. This amazing poster is a piece of movie history and needs to be framed and on display. We love it!
