Introducing Alpine’s high-end receiver with cutting-edge technology and connectivity, the CDE-178BT is designed for the next generation of car audio enthusiasts.

With a rear USB input for iPod/iPhone or USB mass storage devices, and a direct iPod control mode, allowing passengers to use the iPod interface for direct iPod operation.

The built-in Bluetooth Plus allows audio streaming from compatible devices, as well as hands-free operation of Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and full phone book access.

The 9-band parametric EQ and 6 channel digital time correction give you comprehensive control to tune the sound exactly how you like it, while the Alpine TuneIt app gives you even more advanced audio tuning options including search and download of preset audio parameters, and Facebook text-to-speech right from your compatible smartphone. The quad illumination feature is a popular feature that lets you chose between four colour schemes, this allows you to match the colour of your dashboard to give your cabin a completely unified look. 

9-Band Parametric EQ

Parametric Equalisers are multi-band variable equalisers which allow users to control the three primary parameters: amplitude, centre frequency and bandwidth.

Alpine TuneIt TTS App

Alpine’s TuneIt app makes smartphone integration a breeze, offering advanced audio tuning, download of preset audio parameters and Facebook access optimised for on-the-run information. Plus, with text-to-speech (TTS) you can choose for your Facebook notifications to be read aloud over the cars sound system. This app can be accessed via both Android and iOS devices.

Bass Engine SQ

The BASS button takes you directly to Alpine’s advanced bass level adjustment function. As you choose one of the five levels, it automatically adjusts frequency cutoff, Q factor and subwoofer level for optimum sound quality. Choose from Standard, Punch, Rich, Mid Bass or Low Bass.

Bluetooth Plus Built-in CD Tuner

In addition to full hands-free mobile phone operation, Bluetooth Plus gives you many other convenient functions like adjustable volume control, 5 echo cancellation and noise reduction presets, hold and switch incoming calls, easy ABC phonebook search, SMS text alert with icon display, battery and mobile reception level indicators, plus advanced audio streaming with media control displaying song, artist and tag information. Parametric Equaliser
A divider separates the audio signal into two or more frequency bands to feed different amplifiers or speakers.

 Radio Data System

 RDS is a communications protocol which sends small amounts of digital information to your head unit. This allows you to view extra radio information, including station name and now playing track/artist information.

 MediaXpander

 MediaXpander (MX) is Alpine’s exclusive technology that restores sound quality lost in music file compression or original recording process. No adjustments are necessary; simply at a touch of the display select MediaXpander and your music will instantly sound more alive, rich and natural.

 Quad Illumination

 Choose your favourite colour with Quad Illumination, a popular Alpine feature that lets you choose from four colour schemes: red, amber, green or blue. When you select one, all the buttons change colour. Match the colour of your dashboard illumination to give your cabin interior a nice unified look.

 Rear USB Connection

Connect your iPod, iPhone or USB drive via the rear USB input for playback of audio files.
